Court Bennett is a native of Sandy, Utah. He received his BFA in sculpture from Utah State
University in 1996 and his MFA in sculpture at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia,
PA, in 2003. His sculptures are hand-constructed bio-mechanical forms, which combine
materials in unconventional, dark and humorous ways.
Exhibitions include Court Bennett:New Work at Salt Lake City's Rose Wagner Center for
the Performing Arts and a mass-juried exhibition with Projekt30.com, both in 2006. Four of
Court's sculptures were included in the exhibition at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center in
Dunedin, Florida as part of an invitational show entitled The Artist as Inventor in 2007. His
work was recently included in the Emerging Artists Showcase at (a)perture gallery in Salt
Lake City, Utah and will soon be featured in an upcoming group exhibition in the fall of 2009
at Phoenix gallery in Park City, Utah.
Court has taught Artist in Residence programs for the College of Eastern Utah and local
elementary and high schools. He has served as juror for student exhibitions at Hillcrest,
Bingham and Brighton High Schools in the Salt Lake Valley and works as a technician and
graphic artist for AlphaLab, Inc.
