Fingertips to notes,

Fiery angels in dreamcoats stutter-stepped the twilight dance,

Tracing whirling-circle pirouettes,
In bouncing elation, they rock.

The butterfly cries foul, the song bird faint,
Her sugar song bemuddled like soft breath in hurricane fury.

Dance glory feet in praise to the sun,
Spring to shame the jester stars!
Fulfill the pleasing promise of morning’s bright melody!

But no,
The notes crawl like aimless ants,
No, the ink ills and fails to flow,
Straight-jacketing the flyers of my mind.
