Cold sleep comes not now
Not today
But surely will
One day, maybe soon
To harvest a friend
To take one dear, as in the past
Or someone closer, a loved one
Or to cut short my own fragile fray

For now I make
And I love
And I break and I build

That subtle, patient one
Death waits to end me
Death will win
Only fill the passing moments
With substance of mind
And heart
Though Death will come one day and claim me for his own
He cannot take my art
